SYWTBTNNTHouse; New York, Tuesday [ 09/08 ].

The models had had a very long day; it had been another runway challenge, and the ones that were left were feeling a little antsy. After all, they were down to seven <strike>pretend this has a logical timeline, la</strike>, which meant that this next cut was most likely to be the last cut before the surviving six went overseas to the abroad location.

None of them were quite as antsy as Chad, however, who'd actually won the challenge and was told that his prize would be a surprise, to come at some other time. He'd picked Brenton to share the prize, so he had one coming, too, which made the pair of them actually the most stoic antsy pair ever.

"It's a visitor," Rebekah reasoned. "It's got to be."

But Chad grunted, frowning, not wanting to get his hopes up for a prize like that. After all, his boyfriend was in space...and Prince Oscar Pedro had a store to run.

"Extra shots, maybe?" Viki guessed.

And now Brenton groaned. "Yeah, like Chad needs extra shots. His are always perfect. I wouldn't mind, though, I could use some..."

"Oh! Maybe he can pick his frames or something!"

The discussion like that continued until Chad just grunted again. "Whatever it is," he said, as they moved back into the house, "we'll find out eventually..."

[[ for that one guy, plz. ]]

OOC :: Tonight's SYWTBTNNTM Episode

Due to <strike>mun fail, a surprisingly busy day, and a date night</strike>, tonight's episode of So You want to be the Nation's Next Top Model will not be playing today.

Instead, you'll find the station playing a rousing game of moose football with the promise of a new episode next week.

Sorry about that, guys.

OH. And I want to add an apology for me being all fail on my tags today. Everyone who SPs with me through tomorrow is a rock star.

It had all started on the catwalk, which had made it seem innocent and harmless enough at first. After all, who really could ever walk a catwalk without wanting to occasionally break out into some Right Said Fred? It was simply Chad who decided to go for it, being too sexy for his shirt, his cat and, eventually, this song.

"I mean, Chad's always been very musical," Rebekah told the confessional. "That's part of why we like him. But it started to get really, really...odd. Like when he started bouncing around to Madonna, and then suggesting ice cream for breakfast...I mean, I love ice cream for breakfast. Singing about it is a little...different."

"He said I was beautiful!" Dianna beamed at the camera. "Well, actually, he sung it. It was so sweet! Chad is so nice! And he's a good singer, so I mean, he's good at it, so that makes it okay that he wouldn't shut up all day. He even sang in Japanese! Or maybe it was Chinese. I don't know. It was hot, though."

"And?" Brenton looked incredulous. "No, Chad, I do not want to go with you to gay bar, stop asking. Really! I don't want to! At all! ...Because I'm not gay!"

"I think," Jon offered, "what really made it clear that something really weird was going on was when he went all flashdance on us, right down to using Viki's water bottle to cool himself down."

"The guy is just weird!" Viki insisted. "When it was his phone time and he went to call his boyfriend, ohmygod, I swear, he was belting Closer at the top of his lungs. It was so gross."

Brenton: "...man, that was ho-- I mean! Seriously. Keep it in your pants, dude."

And then there were some guitar riffs.

"Great, he's at it again. What time is it? ....It's only three in the afternoon? And he's been at this all day? *BEEEEEEP*"

[[ yeah, like I could refuse this.
SYWTBTNNTHouse; New York, Saturday [ 07/11 ].

When Jon got up that morning and shuffled into the kitchen, the last thing he expected was there to be two finely dressed Italian twins and a curvy Mexican woman standing there behind the counter. In fact, he'd expected it so little that he kind of screamed like a little girl, hoped it wouldn't make the edit, but planned to explain it off on the fact that he's from Alaska, where you just didn't have Italian twins and curvaceous Mexicans in your kitchen.

"Are you guys our next challenge?" Jon asked, once he was sure no one else heard that.

One of the Italian men just pulled a comb out of his suit pocket and ran it through his hair; the other did the same, but with the opposite hand. The Mexican woman said, "I think I need a tune-up, papi."

"Wow," Jon was still staring a little. "That's a really deep voice for a woman. And I'm from Alaska."

A few of the other models drifted in and tried to figure out exactly what these people were in their kitchen for and what the challenge might be, before a very displeased Chad thundered in. "Okay," he said, "not cool. Whoever took my shoes and guitar need to give them back now. I've had that guitar forever and those shoes were a gift from my boy--"

Chad stopped, noticing the guests. They looked familiar, but...

"We're right here, man," said one of the Italians, very smoothly.

"We went out for a walk," the other added.

"Time to play me, senor?" asked the woman with the very deep voice.

All the other models just stared at Chad and the deep red of his face and the look of utter shock underneath it.

"Uhhh."

This was going to be interesting trying to explain to the producers. "...shoes? Guitar? Let's go in my room real quick..."

An awkward silence settled over the kitchen as they left. Finally, Viki broke it, "What the fuck? He didn't even win a challenge!"

[[ NFI, but OOC welcome! Totally contains vague spoilers for a few weeks ahead in the show ;) ]]

So You Want to be the Nation's Next Top Model Ads, Week of June 21st.

Loud music. Flashing graphics. An announcer trying to fit everything into the hyper-short attention spans of the main demographic. In a nutshell, that was what the advertisements that started popping up on various channels seemed to be, thirty second sparks of inspiration, and these were the important parts:

"...So You Want to be the Nation's Next Top Model? Too bad! You can't! But these six hot girls and these six sexy guys might get the chance!..."

"Panel of top fashion names..."

"Fashion!"

"Couture!"

"Cover Girl!"

"Drama llamas!"

"Who will be hot? AND WHO WILL NOT?"

"Sundays, eightsevencentral. ONLY on the CW!"

And, if anyone might be paying particular attention, they might recognize a face in those flashes, of a particular giant cheerleading Fandom High alum...

[[ OKAY, HERE'S THE DEAL: I've finally gotten around to posting this and getting Chad's post-Fandom career as a Reality Model Show star started. Due to the magic of Fandom television, the show Chad's going to be on (So You Want to be the Nation's Next Top Model, SYWTBTNNT for 'short') will be accessible Sundays at eight (seven central) on Fandom TVs. In the tradition of ANTM, they pre-film a lot of it, so Chad's been contracted not to make contact with anyone until the show is over and/or the show where he's booted gets broadcast, but I invite people to take an interest in the show and follow it and humour my crazy. Every Sunday, a general post describing the gist and the drama and the photoshoots and which model gets kick off will go up so people who do want to watch it and cheer Chad on will know what happened that week. I think that covers it, but if you have questions, ask away! ]]

Chad's Apartment; NYC; Saturday Night [ 06/06 ].

It was no surprise to Chad that being in a long distance (very long) relationship, especially after three years of living just a floor away from each other (interesting how they never actually lived together), but these last few days seemed even worse than usual for him. Clearly, it marked a sort of threshold, and the time that had passed since graduation was the very scientific number for when a long distance relationship became too much to handle.

And the fact that all he could think about was how much he missed Teddy and all the things he'd like to do to Teddy if he was with him right now did not help that he was currently trying to shift through a whole bunch of very technical forms for the show. He'd made it through the second casting and just coming up here soon they'd have the casting episode that they filmed, and he pretty much would have to cut of almost everything if he got in. He thought. They made these contracts really, really hard to understand...

[[ expecting a certain phone call, which will likely be NWS, but open to others, because, you, I'm sure calling Chad is the first thing on anyone's mind.
OOC :: So Long and Thanks for the Fish.

...Sort of.

I interrupt your regularly scheduled alligator attacks for just a quick, pain-free announcement to let the game as a whole know that I've stepped down from my admin position. It was a wonderful opportunity and it breaks my heart a little to have to step back from serving the game I love so much as much as I could, but real life for me has taken a very dramatic turn. Not bad, thank God, just...different, which means managing my gametime has become a bit more of a challenge, and my availability to do things is unpredictable, as is my ability to really dive in deep and do the work that needs to done. Which the current team does so well as it is that they don't need me anyway.

Clearly, I'm still around in the game, plugging along with my recently sporadic tagging and playing. I want to also, while I'm here, thank everyone recently for putting up with my spaciness and occasional fail!tagging. Like I said, dramatic changes, and so finding the balance is still a little rough.

It's been an honour and a privileged being your admin for the short time that it was.

And, yes, I'm only posting with this account to point out that this is thumbs-up icon #6. *thumbs up*

SYWTBTNNT Audition; New York, Tuesday [ 05/26 ].

Several crates of ramen cups and a few odd jobs here and there had Chad deciding that he was going to go ahead and do something that might be a little crazy, but it wasn't like it would hurt. That morning, he headed down to an audition for the open casting for this season's So You Want to be the Nation's Next Top Model...

They were herded into the conference center like cattle. Tall, beautiful, occasional charmingly awkward cattle, given a number (Chad's was 10034005600356...he thought. He might be off a digit or two), and then they stood around for hours before they were marched in front of a panel of people (none of them the celebrity judges from the show yet), and then stood around for a few more hours. Chad wished he brought he guitar, although maybe it was a good thing he didn't. He did have to step in and stop a bitchfight that sparked up between two girls over whether or not the other one was an anorexic bitch in a weave and if the other one was just a bitch, which he settled pretty easily by picking them both up and putting them in separate corners of the room (which a lot of people seemed kind of impressed about but they weighed, like, next to nothing).

And then they stood around for another few hours, but at least Chad had managed to get into a conversation with some girl who didn't look like she really belong there about the finer nuances of the punk rock music movement, and that really helped move the time, and, before he knew it, they were calling out numbers for people who could come to the call back auditions.

Chad actually thought at first that he wasn't called, but it turns out his number was 10034005600357, not 10034005600256.

Awesome.

[[ establishy, yay! But open to phone calls and OOC! And yes, this is a new thumbs up icon *thumbs up* ]]

Chad's Apartment; NYC; Tuesday [ 05/12 ].

The apartment...was tiny. It would probably be tiny even if Chad wasn't so large and a good deal of space wasn't being used for CDs, music systems, and his guitar. It was even tinier than the apartment he had in Japan, and a lot more expensive, too, and so Chad was spending some time wondering if it might not have been better to take up a summer term at college so that he could have a dormitory.

But, in a way, the tiny little expensive box of an apartment had some...charm. And it would be pretty easy to clean. He could dig this; he could get settled here. And it was his and he was there and he was going to become a successful, contributing member of society.

For a few years, anyway.

Chad sunk onto the chair in the space dedicated for a living room, grunting slightly. He needed to work this summer, so he had went around and got some information on some casting calls. It was now just a matter of trying to find the right one...

[[ Establishing Chad in New York! But also open! Whee! ]]

OOC :: An Info Post. Alumni Edition.

I was going to do my current students next but then I just got another new thumbs-up icon for Chad (this makes 5!), and so that settled it right there. Here are my alumni characters, who you probably won't interact with too much if you're new, but they're still awesome.

There is however, a small note about something post-grad that Chad will be doing if you want to check it out and help!

Adah Price, The Poisonwood Bible, ecirpnellehada
--Class of 2008
--In her second year of pre-med at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, 1964.
--Has hemiplegia, which means that half of her brain (and, consequently, half her body) doesn't work. Needless to say, she's left handed.
--Is obsessed with language, especially poetry (Poe and Dickinson specifically) and backwards things. Palindromes make her salivate. There's a reason she can pinpoint the moment she fell in love with Lee to exact moment he joked around that his middle name was Fool. Think about it.
--Is totally in love with Lee Adama. Kind of hates him for it. A little.
--Has a lot of family issues, especially regarding her father, who basically regarded her as a "punishment from God" and dragged his family to the Congo as missionaries, and her mother, who had intentionally left her behind once when fireants attacked their village, thinking they'd kill her but someone had to go and mess that up by saving her
--Has a twin sister that she isn't sure is dead or not. Has an older sister who is definitely alive and a complete idiot. Has a little sister who is definitely dead as doornails.
-Is anti-social and does not speak unless she feels like it and/or has to. This makes her pretty much never leave her hotel room or dark shadowy corners at alumni events, and she certainly never approaches anyone who isn't Lee. She's difficult like that.
--Will be embarking on an experience with a neurologist friend under the theory that she actually can use the bad half of her body; she was just trained otherwise. It will require her to "forget" everything she's learned about movement by not moving for an extended period of time. Ohhh, that'll be fun.

Yasutora "Chad" Sado, Bleach, senor_chado
--Class of 2009
--His name is not Chad Chad. It's Yasutora Chad, if using the nickname, which is a really, really lame pun on tea.
--Will be leaving for New York shortly, where he will embark on a modeling career and attend college for a music degree, before going into space to be a concubine for an alien emperor. He has one of the coolest futures ever, omfg.
--Is practically married to Teddy Altman.
--LOOOOOOVES cute things. Not that you can tell. He's one stoic mo-fo.
--Will do anything and everything he can to protect the ones he loves
--Is very quick to make make-shift familial relationships with people
--Is super-strong, can take a beating, and has a super-powered armoured arm to hit crap with. Also, if he's been...'active' with Teddy recently, he can shapeshift and heal quickly. Yes. His boyfriend has magical sperm.
--Is obsessed with music. Doesn't talk much. Unless it's about music.
--Is half-Japanese, half-Mexican. Spent his childhood between the two countries until the death of his grandfather, where he moved to Japan for a few steady years and then to America and Fandom High.
--Parents are dead, too. There should be a club for that.
--Used to be Assistant Manager at Groovy Tunes. Now Prince Oscar Pedro Neko-kun (pause) the Third, his hairless cat, holds that title.
--Will one day have at least 50% of his icon slots taken up by Thumbs-Up Icons. Mark my words.
--This summer, I intend to have Chad embark on a reality, ANTM/MMASM-esque TV show, where hopefully I'll be posting an 'episode' every week and, hopefully, through the magic of FH interdimensionability will be broadcast on the island so people can waaaatch it because that'd amuse me WAY TOO MUCH OMFG.

Now...give me thumbs up icons.

Room 312; Tuesday Afternoon [ 05/05 ]

Chad

It was kind of weird to think about it; sure, he had a few days left, but, when those few days were over, he'd be leaving Fandom. Very weird. But, Chad told himself, it would be a good change. He was going to grow in New York just as he had here in Fandom.

...Figuratively, of course. Not actually. If he grew any more, he'd be too tall to get a good modeling career.

It was a good day for packing, he decided. It was Cinco de Mayo. It was a day that, for years, had meant remembering people he loved. There was a little mariachi band providing a soundtrack and he was saving putting a certain collection of similarly themed objects away. A monkey. Some little tiny bongo drums. A mariachi jacket. He had a lot of good years here...

Teddy

Teddy hoped there were a few more days left, but after his discussion with whoever that had been in the park...

"Chad?" He said, knocking on the door and looking around warily.

Chad

"Hey, Ted," Chad grunted, frowning a moment at two CDs in his hand. He held one of them up. "Which do you think is more expendable, best of Metallica or best of Sabbath?"

Teddy

"...Sabbath," He said, not really thinking about it. Teddy shook his head, clearing it of Chad's taste in music. "I think something might be happening back home."

Chad

Chad let out a little grumble of uncertainty at Teddy's answer before the rest of what Teddy said caught up with him. He blinked, and his frown deepened. "Something? Like what?"

Teddy

"I don't know." He started pacing by the door. "I saw Mr. Beaubier in the park and he was acting really weird and told me to stay out of Skrull business."

Chad

"...Weird how?" Chad asked, after a moment, setting the CDs aside for a moment, crossing his arms over his chest with a thoughtful frown.

Teddy

"Weird weird." Helpful, Teddy. "I don't know, just not acting like himself."

Chad

Chad grunted, thoughtfully.

"Weird."

Teddy

Helpful. Which is why Teddy shot him a look for it. "This was, like, Cap and Iron Man fighting weird."

Chad

Chad didn't know exactly what that meant, but he thought maybe he could make a guess.

"Like...Ichigo and Uryuu getting along weird?"

Teddy

"...he the guy with the weird cape?"

Chad

Chad grunted. "Yeah, that one."

Teddy

"Yeah, that kind of weird," Teddy said after a moment. "I think I should get going sooner than I planned."

Chad

"...Have you talked to your sister at all?" Chad asked. "If something was going on, maybe she'd know...?"

Teddy

"I haven't gotten a response since I tried to ask her to graduation," Teddy said, taking a careful seat on the bed. "That should have been a warning sign."

Chad

Chad grunted again, because, yeah, that definitely didn't bode well. He thought for a moment, coming up with not much, and then went to go sit beside Teddy.

"You got any ideas on what to do?"

Teddy

"I don't know." Teddy leaned against him slightly. "I need to get away from people in case that was a threat."

Chad

Chad's arms went around Teddy, a naturally protecting gesture. "Think it was?"

Teddy

"I don't know. He didn't do anything else."

Chad

"Maybe...." Chad paused, considering things carefully. "Think we should go check it out?"

He barely kept himself from emphasizing the we. Last thing he needed was for Teddy to start worrying about him, too. But he'd probably worry, anyway.

Teddy

"We?" Teddy might have been hugging his waist now.

Chad

"If there's trouble, Teddy," Chad muttered, hoping he didn't actually have to tell Teddy this for him to know it, "you're not handling it alone, you know."

Teddy

Teddy nodded once silently. "If something happens, you run and get help."

Chad

"That makes it sound like I'd ever let anything happen to you."

Teddy

Teddy just hugged him tighter. Because, really, what else could he do?

Chad

And Chad hugged him tightly back. He was quiet for a long moment, trying not to think of how, if something was wrong, how of course it would happen now.

But better now than in a few days, when they wouldn't be together.

Room 312; Sunday Afternoon [ 03/29 ].

It was Sunday, so there might have been some sleeping in, which meant there was a little bit of a delay on the lunch for Dinah for the cheerleading auction, but better late than really late! Dinah had mentioned wanting something spicy and maybe Japanese, so Chad thought curry would be a good direction to go. Not really Japanese, but who cared? It tasted good. He could make it in a special Sado way, too, with a lot of peppers and a lot of tomatoes, and he was really proud of the results. He set up a little table on the floor in the middle so they could sit on mats as they ate, and hoped that the cats didn't take the low table for an invitation to jump on it and try to get into their food.

[[ for the roommate, but open after the luncheon, too! ]]

OOC :: Well, hai thar RL.

First note: Apologies for a Music Club post failing to go up tonight. It was just...not in the stars. Let me explain to you why; it's the reason for this post anyway.

RL has been kicking my butt lately; a lot. Not only did the company that I work for get bought out, resulting in an incredible whirl-wind of changing companies, bosses, and product in all of 36 hours, but I've just started an internship on the same exact week, meaning things have practically been turned...maybe not upside down for me, but at least on its side and off-kilter. I'm going to be stuck with the occasional day like today where I'm working full-on eleven hours in chaotic situation, which is probably going to cut into my playtime a lot for a while, if not permanently.

Hopefully, though, today will be one of the few where the adjustment hits as hard as it did and rendered me unable to keep up with an obligation or two.

I just wanted to give a heads-up for the incoming flightiness and/or reduced activity from my massive crowd: Chad, Turtle, Cal, Daisy, Charlotte, Minsc, Adah. *CLINGS ZOMG*

On the bright side, all things come in threes: with the new company and the internship, I also got my first publication in a journal that isn't put out by a group I manage! HUZZAH.

Room 312; Sunday Evening [03/08 ].

Chad was having the perfect sort of Sunday. His stomach was full with some leftover Chinese food, and he had been reclining on his bed for most of the day, with kittens curled up next to him (well, cat all the time since Prince Oscar Pedro was more than happy to be lazy with him; Camilla was another case, sometimes curling up with her hairless big brother, other times going off and sulking dramatically because Dinah had been out all afternoon). And there was music. Of course there was music, Chad oblivious to anything else at the moment that wasn't feline or basslines.

Mmmm, basslines.

[[ door and post are open! ]]

Room 312; Tuesday Afternoon [ 03/03 ].

Chad had really hated to have done it but, still feeling the full force of what he was convinced was the world's worst hangover, he had skipped music club do just go back to his room and hope that the pounding in his head would lull him to sleep. Or something. It was pretty bad and it didn't help that Prince Oscar Pedro was feeling suddenly cuddly and affectionate.

"Go 'way," Chad muttered, giving the cat a light shove off the bed. "I bought you twenty toys the other day; how come all you want to play with his me?"

Chad sighed, closed his eyes again, and contemplated on whether or not the best cure would be going back to just being perpetually drunk again.

[[ door is closed because NOISE IS BAAAAD, but post is definitely open! ]]

Room 422; Saturday Afternoon [ 02/21 ].

It was a good thing that the beds in this place were fairly sturdy. As if everything that it had been submitted to taking all morning wasn't enough, it still had to support the exhausted, breathless mass of two large bodies sprawling all over it. It had been a long week; there had been a lot to catch up with once it was realized that things actually could...go. They were tired, they were hungry, but they weren't likely moving again until it was to just do more of what they'd been doing. And they were perfectly okay with that.

Plus, there was something else, even better, that made Chad even happier.

"Look," he said, pointing to his face, "it's healed now."

Chad had priorities, after all.

[[ estaaaaablishy!
A Suite at the Arms; Friday Evening [ 02/13 ].

Okay, so, technically, the anniversary was tomorrow, but if anyone was going to mince details with him, he'd be more than willing to make it up and do it again tomorrow night, too. He didn't know who would argue, anyway, considering that, as soon as he got the door unlocked and pulled Teddy into the room with a kiss, the only other person involved wasn't in a position to talk.

Really, he was surprised (and pretty proud) that they'd made it for as long at the dance as they had.

[[ for the booooooyfriiieeeeeend.
After music club, Chad came back up to his room, getting comfortable and lounging on his bed with his headphones on and a kitten nearby and purring.

Reclining on his bed, with a cat on his lap, purring away, and some Journey coming through his headphone (that was why he was listening to headphones), Chad was feeling pretty content. He didn't usually take a lot of stock in that sort of thing, but he was pretty sure that those screens added for Dinah definitely improved the feng shui or something in here.

And tomorrow they'd get a new kitten, too. He talked to Prince Oscar Pedro a little about it in Japanese; he could tell Neko-kun was very excited.

(No. No he wasn't, Chad).

[[ OH LOOK WHO FINALLY FOUND A SUITABLE PB FOR CHAD.
